Lack of leadership is the issue

Ladies and Gentlemen, as a lifelong resident of Illinois, and a graduate of our fine state university, the U of I, I am sick of the governance shown by our elected officials, which includes all of you.

Your political actions, on both sides of the aisle, have become a national embarrassment and eyesore. Your failure to govern as promised to the people of Illinois has damaged our universities, public elementary and high schools, teachers, the needy and underprivileged and all other citizens you were elected to protect.

The governor should be embarrassed to suggest that his so-called Turnaround Agenda with further limits on public unions, workers' compensation laws and lawsuit damages will have any impact whatsoever on people or businesses leaving Illinois.

People and businesses leave Illinois because of a lack of governance and proper budgeting from Springfield which has resulted in hundreds of billions of dollars in debt.

People are fed up with higher taxes and a failure to cut waste.

Start doing your jobs. We in Illinois who travel to other states, or talk to friends and relatives in other states, are tired of trying to defend our state. We no longer can.

My family has discussed leaving Illinois because of the way our "leaders" have governed. ENOUGH!

Compromise and pass a budget!
