Air France to carry Paris 2024 bid logo on 10,000 flights

PARIS (AP) - Airliner Air France will pledge its support for the Paris bid to host the 2024 Olympic Games by displaying the bid logo on 10,000 flights before next year's decision.

The other bidders are Budapest, Hungary; Los Angeles; and Rome.

The International Olympic Committee will select the host city in Lima, Peru, in September 2017.

Air France, which carried nearly 90 million passengers last year, says it will display the logo on flights to long-haul Asia, the Americas, Africa, and Oceania, and medium-haul flights to Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.

Paris bid chairman Bernard Lapasset welcomed the sponsorship, saying Air France "conveys the image of France with its international outlook, aspirational values, and first-class expertise in business."
