Pig roast to benefit veterans

A pig roast to benefit Midwest Veterans Closet is 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, July 2 at the Savannah House Restaurant, 38905 N. Route 41, Wadsworth. Admission is free. A roasted pig plate is $12. Raffles are part of the event and live music will be provided by Eddie Domino and the Domino Effect, with guest performances by veterans Joe Klass and Gerry Emerzian. Proceeds benefit Midwest Veterans Closet & Operation Fetch. Veterans Closet, 2323 Green Bay Road, North Chicago, makes weather appropriate clothing available to veterans and their families and also has a variety of other items for veterans and current military re-entering civilian life. In an adjacent space, veterans and current military personnel have access to a comfortable space for camaraderie and a bank of computers available for professional and personal use.
