Gardening gurus at the Bartlett Library

Having trouble with growing a plant and don't know what you're doing wrong? Or maybe you're dealing with a pesky weed problem that just won't go away. Well, you're in luck because the Master Gardeners from the University of Illinois Extension Services will be available in the Bartlett Library's lobby from 6:30-8 p.m. on Tuesdays, July 5, 12, 19 and 26.

The Master Gardeners have been putting this program on at the Bartlett Library for at least the last ten years, and it is known to be a pretty popular program. Many people have stopped by in order to ask for the Master Gardeners expertise on all things plants.

If you want to stop by to ask a question, it is more helpful for the Master Gardeners to see an example of the plant you need help with. This could be done by taking a picture of it or bringing in a specimen. Questions won't be taken over the phone; you must stop by in order to talk to the Master Gardeners.

Another upcoming Adult Services program is "The Goodness of Grains" on Wednesday, June 29 at 7 p.m. Join Kim Nordin, owner of whEAT REAL, as she demonstrates how to prepare delicious, nutritious foods using whole grains. She will discuss making bread from fresh ground flour and how to incorporate grains such as spelt, millet, quinoa and others into your cooking and baking. Recipes and tasty samples provided.

For more information and a complete listing of scheduled programs, call 630.837.2855 or visit www.bartlettlibrary.org.
