A fight for life compounded by medical bills

I am Haley's uncle and watched her grow up to be a fantastic young adult. She was actively involved with helping charities, and one of them happened to be pediatric brain cancer. Little did anyone know that she would fall victim to this terrible disease.

In the year and a half when she was diagnosed with brain cancer and was fighting for her life, she remained very positive and rarely complained. Our family was supported by many wonderful organizations, including many of the professional sports teams in Chicago and Make A Wish.

It is very difficult for anyone (unless they have had a family member go through this) to fully understand how difficult it is watching someone you love fight for their life and then facing the reality that there is a financial impact from the medical bills that accumulate.

So knowing all this, and seeing how the events and financial support positively impacted Haley, inspired me to be a part of this board of directors.
