First Fridays Concert Series with McHenry County Conservation District

Sit back and enjoy a summer evening of musical entertainment with The Mississippi Stranglers as part of the First Fridays Concert Series from 7 to 8:30 p.m. July 1 on the back patio of the Lost Valley Visitor Center in Glacial Park, Route 31 and Harts Road in Ringwood.

Truly an original "American band," The Mississippi Stranglers hit the main vein of American music. From folk to progressive rock they cover a spectrum that spans from front porch hoe-downs to traditional garage rock offering something for everyone. It features Kurt Richard Carlson (guitars/vocals), Neal Boomer Ernst (guitars/vocals), Garrett Pederson (guitar/vocals), David Young (bass/mandolin/keys) and Matt Ford (drums).

Bring a picnic dinner or dessert and a lawn chair and enjoy the intimate outdoor setting under the branches of ancient oaks with stunning views of the outstretched valley.

In the case of inclement weather, concerts will be moved indoors.

No glass containers are allowed. Site closes at 9 p.m. Addional First Friday Concerts will be held Aug. 5 with the Iris Isle String Ensemble, and Sept. 2 with C Flatt.
