Police searching for men in armed robbery of Woodstock gas station

Woodstock police are searching for three men involved in an armed robbery of a Shell Gas Station at 315 N. Madison St. Friday morning.

Police were called to the station at 3:36 a.m. for a report of three black men who entered the store, held up the cashier with a black assault rifle, stole money and escaped on foot. The three men entered the gas station at the same time, two put on black ski masks to hide their faces, and the three ran west down an alley leading toward the Woodstock Metra Station. A K-9 search was unsuccessful.

All three suspects are described by police as being of "average height and build" and wearing black shirts.
