Junior World Speed skater to visit St. Charles library July 7

On Thursday, July 7, Brandon Molenda, Junior World Speed Skater, will attend a program for students entering first to eighth grade from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the St. Charles Public Library, 1 S. Sixth Ave.

Students will learn what it takes to be a speed skater and qualify to compete internationally at the Junior World Speed Skating Championships.

The Metea Valley High School graduate has represented the U.S. as one of eight athletes at the championships: this year in China, 2015 in Poland and 2014 in Norway.

He will share his experiences and there will be an opportunity for autographs.
