United defender Bobby Boswell suspended for game

NEW YORK (AP) - D.C. United defender Bobby Boswell was suspended for one game and fined an undisclosed amount by MLS on Thursday for a serious foul play that endangered the safety of an opponent.

Boswell was originally issued a yellow card in the 28th minute of United's 0-0 tie at Houston on Saturday night.

Also, Portland Timbers forward Lucas Melano was fined an undisclosed amount after being found guilty of embellishment in the ninth minute of a match against Real Salt Lake.

San Jose Earthquakes assistant coach Ian Russell also was fined an undisclosed amount for violating league policy when entering the field of play against Orlando City.
