Lake County sheriff's warning

The Lake County Sheriff's Office will host a "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" crackdown on drunken drivers during the Independence Day weekend. In a news release, the sheriff's office urged people to be safe while traveling for Fourth of July picnics, parties, parades and more. In addition to looking for drunken drivers, the Lake County Sheriff's Office will step up seat belt enforcement, particularly at night when seat belt usage rates are at their lowest. The Independence Day "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" crackdown is funded by federal traffic safety funds from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration administered through the Illinois Department of Transportation.
