Dads, kids team up for tournament at Golf Center Des Plaines

The Golf Center Des Plaines hosted its annual Father's Day Dad & Me Golf Tournament on the 9-hole, par 3 course. The tournament consisted of two brackets: Dads with a "Me over 18" and dads with a "Me under 18." Teams alternated their shots and the lowest combined score at the end won the 2016 Dad & Me trophy.

The winners of this year's tournament were Kieran and Conner McHale with a score of 30 in the over-18 bracket, and Mike and Nate Bibbey with a score of 28 in the under-18 bracket.

The tournament also featured contests throughout the course, including a Closest to the Pin hole and a Longest Putt hole. The father-son duo of Ron and Kevin Maciejewski swept the Closest to the Pin contest. Conner McHale and Mike Gallagher took home prizes for the Longest Putt.

"It was a perfect day to spend time out on the course with dad," said Tyler Fuchs, Golf and Facilities supervisor. "We're thrilled that everyone had a great time and are already looking forward to seeing everyone return next year for some friendly competition and a fun day with dad."
