Blackhawks' Patrick Kane spending off-season in Chicago

Chicago Blackhawks winger Patrick Kane is spending this summer in Chicago instead of his hometown of Buffalo.

The Chicago Sun-Times reported Tuesday that the team asked Kane to stay in town, but Hawks spokesman Brandon Faber told the Daily Herald on Wednesday that "it was absolutely not a request from the organization. It was a decision solely by Patrick."

Kane was accused of sexually assaulting a woman in his Buffalo home last summer but no charges were ever filed and the investigation was dropped by the Erie County district attorney. He is in Las Vegas today hoping to claim the Hart Memorial Trophy as the league's MVP.
