Jonathan D. Lewis, 28, a former Wilmington High School teacher and girls basketball coach from Naperville, pleaded guilty to charges of having a sexual relationship with a student. He was sentenced to 30 months of probation and a lifetime registration as a sex-offender. Full story.

Proposed Longmeadow Parkway toll could drop

The Kane County Division of Transportation's proposed budget for 2017 includes $25 million in Longmeadow Parkway expenses and a plan for the county to issue $30 million in bonds. The county's deputy transportation director said that would put the toll somewhere between 50 and 75 cents. Full story.

Lee Street ramp for eastbound I-90 coming in 2017

Illinois tollway directors yesterday approved an intergovernmental agreement with Rosemont to build an eastbound exit ramp from I-90 to Lee Street. The tollway authority will split the cost of the $10.9 million project with Rosemont, which still has to approve the agreement, officials said. The new ramp is expected to be finished by the end of 2017. Full story.

Two men injured in Aurora shooting

Two men ages 17 and 21 were injured in a shooting at about 1:40 p.m. yesterday in the 900 block of Fieldstone in Aurora following an altercation, officials said. The men are at an Aurora hospital with nonlife threatening injuries, and are in police custody. Three more were arrested. Full story.

Preliminary OK for future of former Henry estate in Arlington Heights

The Arlington Heights village board approved a preliminary plan by Lexington Homes, a Chicago-area homebuilder, to turn the nearly 5-acre former Henry family estate, into a development with 15 single-family homes. Full story.

Man in critical condition after Antioch fire

A disabled man in his 60s was pulled by fire crews early Monday after a single-story house in the 24000 block of Hawthorn Lane in Antioch. The man was unconscious in a bedroom and could not escape. He remains in critical but stable condition. Full story.
