Hit-and-run involving bike in Mundelein

A bicyclist suffered minor injuries early Tuesday after being struck by a vehicle whose driver didn't stop, Mundelein police said.

The crash took place before 7 a.m. on Route 83 at Hawley Street, according to Sigalert.

The bicyclist was traveling northbound on Route 83 when she was struck and thrown off her bike, Cmdr. Fred Kliora said. She was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center, he said.

"Basically she had road rash. She did have a helmet," he said.

The bicyclist was unable to give a description of the vehicle, Kliora said.
