Waukegan police seek information about 2 armed robberies

Two armed robberies took place in Waukegan over the weekend, and police said on Monday it's unclear whether the two are related.

The first robbery took place at 8:10 p.m. Sunday when two suspects entered a dollar store on the 2200 block of North Lewis Avenue and robbed it at gunpoint, Waukegan police said in a news release. The men were described as black males, one wearing a wig and the other wearing a sweatshirt tied over his face. The men took an undisclosed amount of cash before leaving.

The second robbery happened about 11:20 p.m. Sunday on the 1000 block of 9th Street. Two victims were robbed by two black males described as in their late teens, very tall and with thin builds. The suspects took cash and personal property from the victims, who suffered minor injuries.
