Fred Hjertstedt of North Barrington gives Brandon Sadowski of Lake Zurich a drink from his water carrier Monday during a break from skating at the Lake Zurich Skatepark. Hjertstedt and Sadowski met at the skate park about eight years ago and said they have been friends ever since. "If we see each other here, we'll just show up and skate," said Hjertstedt. "Skating's more fun when there's more people around. I'd rather have hot weather in Chicago than cold."
