Geneva man, 73, dies following crash in Campton Hills

A 73-year-old Geneva man died Saturday from injuries suffered in a three-vehicle crash on Route 64 in Campton Hills, police said.

Stephen Sikorsky was behind the wheel of his 1941 Lincoln Zephyr stopped in a westbound lane waiting to turn left into The Lodge on 64, 41W379 Route 64, at 5:25 p.m. Friday when a Jeep Wrangler struck his car from behind, according to Campton Hills police.

Sikorsky's car was pushed into the eastbound lane, where it struck the rear of an eastbound tractor trailer, police said.

He was taken to Delnor Community Hospital in Geneva, and later flown to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. He died at Lutheran General Saturday at 11:30 a.m. as a result of his injuries.

The driver of the Jeep, Richard Graham of Sycamore, was taken to Delnor Community Hospital with injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening, police said.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, police said. Traffic violations for Graham are pending the investigation by the Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team, according to police.
