Larger Festival of Fine Arts coming to Highland Park
The Art Center - Highland Park and Amdur Productions have partnered for TAC's 29th Annual outdoor Festival of Fine Arts (formerly TAC's Festival of Fine Craft), and will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, June 25 and 26 in Highland Park.
This year, the festival will again have a new, larger "footprint" from Elm Place to Central on Sheridan Road and on Central from St. John's to the movie theater.
The Festival of Fine Arts offers a weekend of art from over 100 artists and craftsmen from across the United States. The festival will also offer live musical entertainment and performance art throughout the weekend.
At the festival, TAC's "Children's Creation Station" will be sponsored by @properties, offering hands-on art making activities and art demonstrations throughout the weekend, including "wheel throwing," painting, printmaking and mosaics. There will also be surprise giveaways throughout the weekend.
In addition, Amdur Productions has started a new charity initiative at their festivals called the Green Ribbon Project. The project connects the festival with an important cause and aims to stimulate art buying at the festival Participating artists put a green ribbon on a piece of their choice in their booth and when the piece is sold the artist agrees to give 10 percent of the proceeds to TAC's Festival of Fine Arts Scholarship fund, the dedicated charity for this festival.
