Kids party on in Libertyville

Face painting, a magician and lots of games were part of the annual Libertyville Days children's party Friday in Cook Park.

Children ages 8 and younger turned out for the event in the grass near Cook Mansion.

"The weather turned out great. We got a great turnout of kids," said Laura Joyce, former president of Libertyville Junior Women's Club. This is the 10th year the organization has sponsored the party.

Nonperishable food was collected for the Libertyville Township Food Pantry.

Libertyville Days continues through Sunday in downtown Libertyville. Highlights include the annual parade at 10 a.m. Saturday, and carnival rides, food, activities and main stage music each day.
