Rotary Club Sponsors Community Dinner at Emmaus House
On June 12th, the Rotary Club of Long Grove, Kildeer and Hawthorn Woods sponsored the Sunday evening community dinner at Emmaus House in Lake Zurich. The dinner is held weekly in the lower level of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church.
Club members participating in the event included: Jim Dopler, event organizer, and his wife, Marilyn, Kildeer; Ed Cruickshank and his wife Stephanie, Mundelein; Lyle Staab and Jon Jansky, Hawthorn Woods; and Bill Ferreira, Long Grove. Numerous other volunteers from the local community also help out with the event each week.
The meal included a dinner salad, fried chicken, peas, corn, potato salad, pasta salad, assorted desserts and beverages. Approximately 175 guests attended the event.
Emmaus House provides food, clothing and funding for shelter to families in need in Lake County, helping them move from crisis to stability.
The Rotary Club of Long Grove, Kildeer and Hawthorn Woods meets every Tuesday morning at 7:15 a.m., at Village Pizza and BBQ, in Long Grove. Prospective members are invited to attend.
