Loop streets closed after gas main accident

Some downtown Chicago streets are closed after construction crews hit an unused gas main in the Loop about 1 p.m.

Chicago Fire Department officials said no one was injured.

The affected area is State Street from Lake to Washington streets and on Randolph Street from Dearborn Street to Wabash Avenue.

Some CTA Red Line trains were delayed as a result of the hazardous materials situation.
