Reliability a selling point at Giant Tent Event

How long will your car last? 50,000 miles? 100,000 miles? 150,000 miles?

With the tremendous recent advances in the auto industry, today's vehicles are lasting longer than ever, prompting many people to buy pre-owned cars. That's why the 13th annual Giant Tent Event at Woodfield Mall, June 13-18, is the perfect opportunity to purchase a great used vehicle at unbelievable and unbeatable prices, organizers say.

'Today's cars are made better and are safer than ever, so who knows how long your car will last, making this a tremendous opportunity for anyone who is in the market for a pre-owned vehicle," said Chris Haley, general manager of the event run by Resnick Auto Group.

Car buyers can find the Giant Tent Event in its usual location as the southeast corner of the Woodfield Mall parking lot near the Sears anchor store. For as little as $49 down and $99 per month, customers can choose from among almost 500 vehicles, making this pre-driven, public liquidation event the largest of its kind in the Chicago area and one of the largest in the Midwest.

As in past years, this liquidation event will feature an extensive selection of most makes and models, including sub compacts, gas savers, SUVs, mid-size family cars, minivans, sports cars, pickup trucks and full-line luxury cars. New for 2016 is a large selection of SUVs.

"With gas continuing to remain inexpensive, many customers see this as an opportunity to buy a small SUV," Haley said. "Come early for the best selection."

The pre-auction pricing that is a hallmark of this event allows people to purchase vehicles for thousands of dollars less than they ever thought possible, Haley said. Vehicles will be available at all price points, with a majority priced from $5,000 to $10,000. If you're looking for a really inexpensive vehicle, check out the budget section with cars priced from $399 to $4,999.

"One example is a 2001 Honda Accord LX, stock No. 160546A, priced at $399," Haley said. "You'll find a lot of cars like this one in the budget section."

Many vehicles will have low mileage, one owner, or both, and most will qualify for an extended service contract to ensure peace of mind. Carfax inspection reports will be available upon request.

"It doesn't get any easier than this to buy a quality, pre-driven car," Haley said. "We make it easy for you to get the vehicle you want, with customer service representatives on site to assist with your selection and easy financing available, no matter what your credit score."

All vehicles will have prices clearly marked and have gone through rigorous mechanical inspection to ensure quality. Many are also Toyota or Lexus certified. Almost every vehicle will have a price below Kelly Blue Book values, he said.

As in previous years, Haley and his team have traveled throughout the United States to bring a superior selection of used vehicles to the Giant Tent Event, with many coming from Southern states, particularly Florida, so they have not been subjected to the ravages of road salt and other environmental conditions.

One of the outstanding values available is a 2007 Toyota Camry LE, stock No. 160350D, one of America's most popular cars because of its reliability, for sale with $49 down and $99 per month to qualified buyers. Another example is a 2010 Jeep Patriot, stock No. Q7296, available for $9,999.

Haley said similar discounts will be available on the entire inventory sold during the event. To get a preview of many of the vehicles available, go online at www.predrivensalesevent.com. In addition, customers can find unbelievable deals on Resnick's new car inventory during Schaumburg Toyota's Construction Reduction Sale at its temporary facility, 125 W. Higgins Road, Hoffman Estates.

If you're looking for a second car, need a present for a graduating senior, or simply want a great value, the Giant Tent Event is the place to be. All offers will be considered and trade-ins will receive top dollar.

Haley said the event is a great outing for families. Pepsi is once again sponsoring the sale, which runs daily during mall hours, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Hot dogs and refreshments are available while you listen to the music selection that plays continually. Everyone attending can register to win a free iPad with no purchase necessary.

Although all inventory is pre-driven, these late-model vehicles have better fuel economy and better safety features than their predecessors, along with more solid construction and reliability, leading to a better overall buying experience.

"Recently Toyota announced that an owner of one of its trucks put 1 million miles on the vehicle and it still runs great," Haley said. "Don't miss your chance to join the thousands of happy and satisfied customers who have previously enjoyed the extraordinary savings and hassle-free financing at the Giant Tent Event. You never know as the vehicle you purchase could be the next one that will last a million miles."
