Wheeling/Prospect Heights chamber offers active shooter training for businesses

The Wheeling / Prospect Heights Area Chamber of Commerce & Industry will host an active shooter training seminar beginning at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, in council chambers at Wheeling Village Hall, 2 Community Blvd., Wheeling.

Members of the Wheeling Police Department will present the program, aimed at teaching participants how to respond when an active shooter enters a building. The information is tailored to complement the police department's response protocol to those situations.

Registration pricing for the event has been structured to encourage companies to bring as many representatives as appropriate. The cost is $10 for chamber members and $25 for nonmembers.

Registration and networking begins at 9 a.m., followed by the hourlong program at 9:30 a.m. and a question-and-answer session at 10:30 a.m. For more information, contact Jim at jkrappel@wphchamber.com or (847) 541-0170.
