Grayslake library summer program

Grayslake Elementary District 46 and the village library have teamed up for a summer youth reading program. Officials from Grayslake Area Public Library and District 46 said the idea is to boost the number of children reading during the summer and decrease the impact of learning loss during the long break. Strategies will include friendly competition among District 46 schools. The school with the highest percentage of students who register and complete their summer reading will be awarded the Reader Cup Trophy in the fall. The trophy will have the school name and year awarded engraved and remain at that building throughout the academic year for bragging rights.
