Des Plaines Students Install a Little Free Library for their Community

Plainfield Elementary School, Des Plaines, now has a Little Free Library installed outside the school that provides free books for students and members of the community. The library was provided by Matt Peebles' fourth grade class through the generous support of Zygmunt Boduch of Niles and Ange Peebles of Sunnyvale, California.

The response has been incredible. The library needs to be restocked every day and students are excited about reading, donating books they have read, and spreading the word. The impact of the Little Free Library on the community will result in more students reading, which is critical to students' success in school. More books are now in the hands and minds of more District 62 students, therefore we all benefit.

The student council at Plainfield has raised funds to purchase even more books to supply the library and the community. Read to Succeed!

Those interested may provide books and financial donations to Plainfield Elementary School, 1850 Plainfield Drive, Des Plaines, IL 60018 c/o Matt Peebles.
