Schaumburg Township Community Shred and Electronics Recycling event

Paper shredding is limited up to four boxes/bags (1 cubic feet or 15" x 12" x 10" per box/bag) per car. Paper clips, staples and rubber bands do not need to be removed. Hard drive and media destruction will be available. Items such as computer hard drives, thumb drives, cell phones, CDs and backup tapes can be physically destroyed while protecting any personal information from being accessed. Electronic recycling (separate from destruction) will accept computer/IT equipment, cell phones, batteries, small appliances, batteries, and home and office electronics. There is a $35 charge for disposal of tube TVs and a $10 charge CRT monitors. Volunteers from ARMA Northern Illinois Chapter will be on hand to assist residents with the handling of electronics and shredding materials.
