Officials said the two colleges have come to an understanding with plans for North Central to acquire and integrate the faculty, programs and students of Shimer effective beginning with the fall 2017 term. Apartments for ages 62 and older proposed in Des Plaines

A developer plans to build studio and one-bedroom apartments for those age 62 and older on the site of a shuttered manufacturing plant in Des Plaines. Pontarelli Cos. is proposing to construct a 4-story, 80,000-square-foot building on a parcel occupied by the former Era Tool & Manufacturing Co. building on North Avenue between Second and Third avenues. Buffalo Grove moving more cases out of court system

The success of Buffalo Grove's administrative adjudication process so far has village officials already expanding it. Launched in January, the program has shifted cases involving parking, non-moving traffic and ordinance violations away from the Lake County courthouse to a village hearing officer who handles matters closer to home for both police officers and residents.
