St. Charles library begins its summer reading program

Get ready to celebrate with this year's St. Charles Public Library's summer reading program, "Read for the Win!"

While you may not be competing on the field, summer reading participants will experience victory; because no matter the age, reading strengthens the mind, builds knowledge and promotes personal gain. It's just fun!

The library launched its summer reading program on Wednesday, May 25 which runs through Wednesday, Aug. 3.

The summer reading program is a library annual tradition with nearly 3,500 kids, teens and adults joining in the excitement each year.

Adults and young adults can register at the readers services or the adult reference desk.

Sign in with your book log at least once between June 8 and Aug. 3 for a chance to win prizes.

Readers finishing sixth to 12th grade may register in adult or youth services.

Those registered who read or listen to books will receive coupons and a T-shirt. Also, there will be weekly drawings.

Infants, preschool children and elementary students can select from one of five exciting age-appropriate reading clubs for everyone from rookies to budding all stars.

Infants, preschool children and elementary students may register in Youth Services at the Book Club Desk.

These programs encourage children, youth, and families to read and maintain reading skills during the summer months.

Thirty-six local businesses are sponsoring the summer reading program with a wide variety of food and/or entertainment reward coupons for each level.
