BOWLING GREEN, Fla. (AP) - Paulina Del Rosario and Princess Mary Superal of the Philippines seized control with a birdie on the par-3 10th and won their opening match, 3 and 2, in the U.S. Women's Amateur Four-Ball on Monday.

The Filipino duo, who won the 36-hole qualifying at Streamsong Resort, never trailed against Mikayla Fitzpatrick and Alisa Snyder. They advance to the round of 16 against Hana Ku and Jordan Lippetz, who won in 19 holes over Kaitlin Milligan and Sydney Youngblood.

San Diego sisters Nicole and Waverly Whiston went 18 holes to beat the No. 2 seed, Sierra Brooks and Kristen Gillman.

Among those eliminated were Alexa Pano and Alyssa Lamoureux. Pano won the Girls 10-11 division last month in the Drive, Chip & Putt National Finals at Augusta National.
