Location of new D59 HQ a really bad idea

Let me get this straight. School District 59 needs a new office building ... touting, among other things, the need for a larger facility for districtwide meetings for teachers.

So the powers-that-be selected a site that is: 1) within a quarter of a mile from the extreme southwest corner of the district; and 2) just off Biesterfield Road - which is so choked with rush hour traffic that Elk Grove Village has had to put out street signs redirecting ambulances to wind through residential streets in order to avoid stopped traffic on both Arlington Heights and Biesterfield roads, just to get to Alexian Brothers Medical Center on Biesterfield.

Which part of the traffic impact study did the school board not read? There was such a study, right?

Let's have the teachers add another hour to their day away from their prime responsibility - the children - while commuting to and from this non-central Central Administration facility. Maybe the board and the superintendent's staff should introduce a new course of instruction for themselves: Facility Planning 101.
