Fund to aid family of Winston Campus boy, wake today

In response to the death of a 14-year-old student, the principal of Winston Campus Junior High in Palatine is asking people who want to help to donate to Palatine Assisting Through Hope (PATH), a charity that assists families in need and will help pay funeral and burial expenses.

David Angeles suffered a fatal seizure Wednesday at a shopping mall near his home in Rolling Meadows. The medical examiner's office determined the death was a result of valvular heart disease and Down syndrome.

A Facebook post remembered the teen as a "sweet, funny and caring young man."

"We have received numerous emails and calls requesting information on ways people can support or contribute to the Angeles family," reads an email sent by Matt Warren, principal of the school, to Winston Campus families. He is asking people to donate to PATH by clicking the donation link at path-palatine.org/PATH/ or by sending a check to PATH at 1585 N. Rand Rd., Palatine, IL 60074.

A visitation was set from 2 until 8 p.m. Saturday at Severino's River Woods Funeral Chapel, 205 S. River Road in Des Plaines.
