Find new alternatives for Lake gridlock

It is apparent that the Route 53 extension north of Lake-Cook Road is all but dead. Therefore, Lake County must consider other options to alleviate the daily gridlock on Buffalo Grove's main thoroughfares. These are Lake-Cook, Deerfield, Aptakisic, Half Day and Buffalo Grove Road between Deerfield and Half Day.

Several years ago when Buffalo Grove Road was widened between Route 83 and Deerfield, it was announced that the widening northward was imminent. Much of the rush hour traffic on this road is an alternative to the lack of the 53 extension. Will there ever be a widening of Buffalo Grove Road?

I don't have a map handy, but is there a chance that Arlington Heights Road can be extended north to Deerfield, Aptakisic, or even Half Day roads? If possible that would alleviate some of the traffic on Buffalo Grove Road. Can Aptakisic be extended east of Milwaukee Avenue, or is that a geographic dead end?

I look forward to Buffalo Grove and/or Lake County offering a plan to solve our road dilemma.
