Learn about historic photos in 'Grandma Nellie's Scrapbook'

The Kane County Genealogical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 26, in the first-floor meeting room of the Geneva History Center, 113 S. Third St.

Tina Beaird will present "Grandma Nellie's Scrapbook: Identifying and Interpreting Historic Photographs." Many people have treasured photographs, but there may be more within the photos than meets the eye. She will share methods and thoughts to consider while reviewing your family artifacts.

Beaird is the Genealogy & Local Librarian at the Plainfield Public Library. She holds a masters of library and information science degree with a specialization in archives/preservation. She has won multiple research and digitization grants to preserve and digitize historic documents and photographs. As a member of the Genealogical Speakers Guild, she has lectured at local, state and national levels.

At the end of the presentation, Beaird will take your questions. You may wish to bring a few of your photos.

Visitors are welcome.
