Nomad Theatre Company's Youth Cast presents '13 The Musical'

Nomad Theatre Company's Youth Cast presents "13 The Musical" on May 20-22 at The Arts Center of St. Charles, 2422 W. Main St. Performances are 7 p.m. Friday, 4 and 7 p.m. Saturday, and 1, 4 and 7 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $10.

This production showcases several talented adolescents from all over the suburban Chicago area.

Directed by Tracy Whiteside of St. Charles with musical direction by Adam Huckeby of Lake in the Hills. "13 The Musical" is a funny, coming-of-age musical about discovering that "cool" is sometimes where we least expect it.

Following a move from fast paced New York City to small town Indiana after his parents' divorce, young Evan Goldman is trying to find a place to fit in and quick! As Evan tries to navigate through the complex social circles of his new school, in hopes of having the best bar mitzvah ever, he learns what it means to be a true friend. This incredible production features a rock score from Tony Award- winning composer Jason Robert Brown.

The cast members include: George Aigner of Batavia; Paige Stevens of Burlington; Nathan Castagna, Kaia Ebel, Maya Hawkins, Eli Newcome, and Katie O'Brien, all of Geneva; AJ Andersen of Hinsdale; Alyssa Kuphal of Lake in the Hills; Alyssa Marcelain of Montgomery; Katie Das, Kristen Das, Andy O'Hara, Aubrey Risch, and Luke Risch, all of St. Charles; and Ceci Yasell and Jess Vandermey, both of South Barrington.

The center is just west of Randall Road. Free parking is available.

Nomad Theatre Company, sponsored by SELF, is a tuition-based educational program. Appearing around the Fox Valley Area, they produce a wide variety of projects all aimed at building self-esteem and leadership among youth in second grade through college. Cast members "create not imitate" by collaborating with the director to develop a unique show based on everyone's participation and imagination. Everyone plays a part, and no one is ever "just ensemble."
