Dundee Lions to learn about burn victims camp Thursday

On Thursday, May 19, Philip Zaleski, executive director of the Illinois Fire Safety Alliance, will presenting a program for the Dundee Township Lions Club. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Village Squire, 125 Washington St. in West Dundee.

He will be speaking about the alliance's camp for burn survivors. Often people fail to realize the trauma and disfigurement a number of fire victims experience. This camp is to provide a wholesome environment for both children and adults to enjoy activities and support from other people who have gone through similar experiences.

The Lions are proud to support this camp as one of their charities. Zaleski's organization in addition provides programs for those who have been adversely effected by burn injuries throughout the year. They help support both children and adults in their recovery.

The public is invited to attend the Lions meeting for the presentation. Dinner ($15) starts at 6:30 p.m. with the presentation at 7:15 p.m. Guests are also able to attend just the program. Call Jim McClung, Lion president, for reservations at (847) 567-7127 as seating is limited.
