Stevenson senior wins science prize

Stevenson High School senior Rebecca Nelson won an award at the Intel International Science and Engineering Festival in Phoenix, school officials announced Monday. Nelson won the Monsanto Award for Innovation in Plant Sciences for a paper on a rare species of flowering plant found in British Columbia and Washington. The first-place award comes with a $2,000 prize. The festival was last week.
