Indianapolis woman leads anti-violence walks

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - A 66-year-old Indianapolis woman isn't letting a list of maladies that includes heart failure, high blood pressure and diabetes from walking across the city as part of a community effort to combat gun violence.

WRTV-TV (bit.ly/1spi2OU ) reports that Floretta Westley and other members of the Ten Point Coalition want to draw attention to their anti-violence message through organized marches for peace this summer.

Westley, who uses a cane, says she is driven by a desire to "stay here and fight, to make it better." Arthritis prevents Westley from walking or standing for long periods of time.

She says she wants to help other people.
