Five adults found overdosed at home near Lake Villa

Lake County Sheriff's detectives are investigating the drug overdose of five people late Saturday after they'd ingested an unknown substance at a home near Lake Villa.

Sheriff's deputies responding to the residence in the 39300 block of North Lake Avenue about 11 p.m. found five adults who appeared to be suffering from an overdose, two of whom were unconscious and unresponsive, according to the sheriff's department.

The other three were conscious, but incoherent, sheriff's police said.

Deputies administered a dose the anti-opiate Naloxone to both of the unresponsive subjects. Both responded and regained consciousness, according to the sheriff's department. All five were taken by ambulance to an area hospital, where they are expected to live, sheriff's police said.

Evidence at the scene was consistent with drug use, authorities said, and the matter remains under investigation.
