S.A.F.E. program registration is open for the 2016-17 school year

Even as the school year winds down, enrollment for before and after school care of students in 2016-17 is already underway. Parents of kindergarten through sixth-graders in Elgin Area School District U-46 can take advantage of this quality before- and after-school child care program while at work or furthering their education during the school year.

The S.A.F.E. Program, which stands for "Supervised Activities for Children of Employed Parents," allows students to participate in arts and crafts projects, organized games and computer activities while waiting for school to start or waiting to be picked up from school. Homework assistance is available as needed and time in a gym or the outdoor playground is available during the program.

Breakfast is available through the Food and Nutrition Services department and an afternoon snack is provided during after school care.

Online registration will be accepted year long.
