Silver Cross provides grant to Senior Services of Will County

NEW LENOX - The Silver Cross Healthy Community Commission recently awarded Senior Services of Will County with a $27,400 grant to help fund their "Quality of Life" programs.

With the help from a grant received from the Silver Cross Healthy Community Commission, Senior Services of Will County will continue to provide support for seniors.

"We are proud to work together with Senior Services to improve the quality of life for area residents, particularly those of senior citizens." said Margie Woods, chair of the Silver Cross Healthy Community Commission.

Services Center of Will County Executive Director Barry Kolanowski said the grant will help the agency continue to provide services to the county's elderly population.

"This grant also enables seniors to maintain quality of life through wellness and independence," Kolanowski said.

Since 2008, the Silver Cross Healthy Community Commission has provided over $1.9 million in scholarships and grants to create a stronger, healthier future for the residents of the east side of Joliet.
