District 212's Modern Languages department recognizes seniors at appreciation ceremony

The ceremonies celebrated the students' academic success and steadfast determination in acquiring a new language. This year a total of 162 students were honored for their outstanding achievements.

"We recognize that it takes a special person to complete four years of a language," says Celida Kipp, Modern Languages Department Chairperson. "It takes dedication and determination. We want to acknowledge our students for their accomplishments."

At the ceremony students were given a certificate and a pin by their respective teachers for each of the languages studied. Kipp says the pins are intended to be worn on the students' gowns at graduation. In addition, the students' accomplishments will be noted on the graduation program.
