CLC Memorial Day Ceremony set for May 27

The ninth annual College of Lake County Memorial Day ceremony will be held at noon on Friday, May 27, in the C Wing Auditorium (Room C005) at the Grayslake Campus, 19351 W. Washington St. The public is invited to attend.

The keynote speaker will be Paul Hettich, U.S. Army. Other speakers include CLC President Dr. Jerry Weber; Ellen Dimock, Gold Star Mother of Spc. Joey W. Dimock II, U.S. Army Ranger; Spc. Margaret Bennett, U.S. Army; and Sgt. Matthew J. Pirrello, U.S. Army Recruiter. Reading of the meaning of America's White Table will be done by Hettich's sons, Col. Paul J. Hettich and CW4 (retired) Philip A. Hettich, Apache Pilot U.S. Army. The master of ceremonies will be Mike Peck, superintendent of the Lake County Veterans Assistance Commission.

The ceremony will include the national anthem and recitation of names of servicemen with Lake County ties who have died in Iraq and Afghanistan. Bagpiper Mary Tallman and the U.S. Marine Corps rifle team will also participate.

Because of construction, park in lot 7, enter at the C1 door and proceed to the lower level C Wing.
