Business Wire

WARRENVILLE - Fuel Tech Inc. has received multiple air pollution control contracts from customers in China. with an aggregate value of approximately $2.2 million.

An award was received for Fuel Tech's NO x OUT Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction systems for multiple coal-fired utility boilers. Equipment deliveries are expected to occur during the second and fourth quarters of this year, as well as the second quarter of 2017. Fuel Tech's SNCR technology is proving to be a viable solution as combustion unit owners look to comply with more stringent NO x control requirements mandated by China's environmental regulatory policies.

Additionally, orders were received for multiple ULTRA systems that will be installed on units firing coal and municipal solid waste, which are being retrofitted with NO x reduction technology. Fuel Tech's ULTRA process provides for the safe and cost-effective on-site conversion of urea to ammonia for use as a reagent where SCR is used to reduce NO x, eliminating the hazards associated with the transport, storage and handling of anhydrous or aqueous ammonia.

"These orders continue to demonstrate our capabilities to provide cost-effective technology solutions on a global basis," said President and Chief Executive Officer Vincent J. Arnone. "With our industry-leading suite of APC products and services, we believe we are well positioned to compete for additional opportunities in the domestic and international markets."
