Tree of Life Choir takes tune-up tour of regional churches

The Adult Choir at Tree of Life Unitarian Universalist Congregation in McHenry is preparing for its upcoming tour of Romania in June with a tuneup tour of three regional Unitarian Universalist churches in May.

The choir, under the direction of Thomas Steffens, has been rehearsing for months in preparation for their trip to Romania's Transylvania region where they will perform concerts at four historic Unitarian churches. Transylvania is home to the oldest Unitarian churches in the world.

They will present that program at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 15, at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of DeKalb, 158 N. Fourth St., and 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 19, at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Elgin, 39W830 Highland Ave.

They will make a last performance at home at the Tree of Life U.U. Congregation, 5603 Bull Valley Road in McHenry, at 7 p.m. Monday, May 30.

Each event is free and open to the public. A freewill offering will be taken.
