Northwestern State names Dupuy new women's basketball coach

NATCHITOCHES, La. (AP) - Northwestern State has found its new women's basketball coach.

Jordan Dupuy, associate head coach at the University of Southern Mississippi, will be introduced as the sixth head coach of the Lady Demons program at a 2 p.m. Tuesday news conference at the Northwestern State fieldhouse.

Director of Athletics Greg Burke, in a news release Monday, said Dupuy will be an excellent fit for the program, university and community.

Dupuy succeeds co-head coaches Brooke and Scott Stoehr, who were named co-head coaches at Louisiana Tech three weeks ago. He spent the past eight seasons at Southern Mississippi, helping lead them to consecutive seasons of at least 25 wins in 2013-14 and 2014-15.

His hiring is subject to approval by the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors
