State would be better off with term limits

The remarks of James C. Backes in the April 27 letters prompted me to respond. He suggested the Daily Herald admit they made a mistake by endorsing Bruce Rauner for governor.

How can any intelligent person not know the problems in our state were caused way earlier by the past and present Democratic machine?

If we voted to have term limits the sad state of affairs in Illinois may not be happening. Mr. Madigan would not have been in control for 40 some years. Can't Mr. Backes see that is where the problems lie?

Gov. Rauner is trying to make good his promises but keeps getting shot down by Mr. Madigan and Mr. Cullerton. These are the men that should be recalled.

Maybe then our state would get on the right track Gov. Rauner hasn't been in office long enough to drag us down to the pathetic state that is losing residents and businesses.

Let's get term limits on the ballot and vote FOR it!
