Wego Drama holds three May events

Wego Drama at West Chicago Community High School finishes its 2015-16 season with special performances and events the first three Saturdays in May.

All events are at West Chicago Community High School, 326 Joliet St.

Advanced drama students will present Snapshot '16, an evening of original student work, at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 7. The show consists of 28 short plays that are inspired by found photographs.

"It's a great opportunity to share our own work and be able to freely express ourselves," said director, writer, and performer Dylan Davidson.

Then Wego Drama performs an evening of original works that are less than a day old with its second annual 24-Hour Play Festival at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 14. Back by popular demand, plays are written by students on Friday night and performed on Saturday night.

"Studio Shows are great; everyone in the community should come by for them," said director and Wego Drama President Robert Bradley.

Both performances are free, with a suggested donation of $10. Some pieces address serious and sensitive topics.

Finally, Wego Drama hosts a Rummage Sale with special performances and activities for kids from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, May 21-22. The Rummage Sale is outdoors, weather permitting, or in the Commons (Entrance H) in case of inclement weather.

"The Rummage Sale will have some sweet things to entertain kids. We will have some mad balloon animals being made," Bradley said.

The Wego Drama company includes, from Carol Stream: Kenneth Correa, Dylan Davidson, and Ricky Geiser; from West Chicago: Efrain Aguilar, Grecia Bahena, Nathan Bradley, Robert Bradley, Abby Carr, Emily Carroso, Vanessa Delgado, Arielle Duerr, Dylan Falletta, Jesus Gonzalez, Alexia Goutanis, Megan Graal, Jackie Hernandez, Jordy Lua, Evy McLean, Nayeli Miguel, Kirsten Miller, Mya Moore, Yesenia Munoz, Neve Ryan, Katie Steininger, Kenny Walz, Alex Weaver, and Noah Zieche; and from Winfield: Connor Thompson, Natalie Thompson, Joy Vogt, and Daniel Weber.
