Girls soccer: St. Charles North shuts out Larkin

St. Charles North 5, Larkin 0: Gia Wahlberg scored twice for the North Stars (12-3-1, 4-0) in this Upstate Eight River win. Morgan Rerko totaled 1 goal and 1 assist while Amanda Czerniak and Lauren Muzzalupo added goals. Hailey Rydberg dished 2 assists and keeper Leanne Stahulak was credited with the shutout.

CL South 4, Johnsburg 0: Thanks to a hat trick from Katherine Siavelis, the Gators (13-5) cruised to a nonconference win over the Skyhawks. Raquel Hess added a second half goal and Courtney Sengstock added 2 assists. Jennifer Luken tallied 1 assist and Annika Sevcik needed 3 saves in net for the shutout.

Huntley 1, Grayslake North 1: Taryn Jakubowski accounted for the only goal in a FVC crossover tie for the Red Raiders (15-3-2). Alyssa Kaufman added an assist while keeper Paige Renkosik notched 2 saves.

Glenbard East 6, East Aurora 1: In UEC Valley action, the Tomcats (3-12-1, 0-3-1) only mustered a second half goal from Jimena Gutierrez on assist from Bianca Esparza in this loss. Keeper Daisy Quinonez featured 26 saves in net.
