Dist. 25 to move two mobile classrooms to Greenbrier

A modular building containing two mobile classrooms will be moved from Ivy Hill Elementary School to Greenbrier Elementary School in Arlington Heights in time for the new school year.

Two fifth grade classes at Greenbrier will be housed in the mobiles, according to Adam Harris, spokesman for Arlington Heights Elementary District 25.

District 25 made its decision based on the district's enrollment expectations, programmatic needs, detailed space study data and trends seen in the recent community survey, Harris said.

The administration believes a long-term solution is needed for Greenbrier, Windsor and Westgate schools, Harris added, with Greenbrier and Windsor having the most pressing needs.

A recommendation for a building addition at Windsor Elementary is forthcoming, he added.

Another possibility for the 2017-2018 school year would be to relocate the Early Childhood program out of Greenbrier Elementary, 2330 N. Verde Drive, and move it to the Dunton Administration Building, Harris said.

He added that District 25 will continue to watch Westgate School's enrollment carefully, as it is projected to drop over the next couple of years.
