Girls soccer: Grayslake North rolls to Valley Division victory

Junior Cammy Cowperthwaite scored a first-half hat trick and added an assist in the second half, as Grayslake North's girls soccer team blanked Woodstock North 7-0 in Fox Valley Fox Division action on Tuesday.

"She showed that she wanted to attack their goal and finish the chances that came her way," coach Adam DeCaluwe said after his Knights improved to 12-4-2.

Sydney Paez scored twice in the second half. Lauren Davis also scored and assisted on two of Cowperthwaite's tallies. Freshman Jordyn Gerdes scored the game's final goal.

Antioch 1, Grant 0: Christina Michaels scored an unassisted goal in the second half - her first of the season, as the Sequoits won in North Suburban Prairie action.

Goalkeeper Monica Wilhelm made 1 save in earning her ninth shutout. Antioch (9-5-5, 4-2) is unbeaten in its last five games (4-0-1), outscoring its opponents 16-4.

Lake Zurich 1, Warren 0: Jasmine Mirabelli scored in the second half of the North Suburban Lake match.

Madeline Blasko had the assist for Lake Zurich (10-4-3). Goalkeeper Madison Hart had 5 saves.

Goalkeeper Skylar Reilly had 4 saves for Warren (10-8-1, 3-3).

Stevenson 2, Libertyville 0: Savannah Kruse and Hannah Lapeire scored unassisted goals in the first half for the Patriots.

Stevenson keeper Hannah Petrich made 5 saves in earning the shutout.
